VICE DEAN FOR STUDENT AFFAIRES STATEMENT ON WINTER EXAM SESSION AND PROCEDURES IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/23 from January 4, 2023. 
 

According to the Rector of the University of Lodz regulations no. 117 from May 26, 2022 regarding the division of the academic year 2022/2023, the winter exam session lasts from January 23 to February 5, 2023. The make-up examination session lasts from  February 13 to  February 19, 2023. 
Deadline for taking exams and getting credits:

 - Exams (E) from January 23 to February 5, 2023; 
- tests finishing courses from January 243to February 19, 2023;
 - Make-up exams (E) from February 13 to February 19, 2023. 

1. Only a student who has regularly participated in a course, has an active student status in course USOS system and a valid student card can take passes and exams in the session. 
2. For each course ending with exam (E) there are two terms: the first term (23.01-05.02.2023) and make-up session (13.02-19.02.2023) A student who has not got a positive grade for exercises classes cannot take the final exam.  
3. The student is obliged to pass exams and  get credits on time. Confirmations of absences from the exam should be delivered immediately after the cause of the absence ceases to exist. Applications to extend the session will be honored only in justified cases provided in the University of Lodz Study Regulations.
4. Grades must be written by lecturers to protocols in UsosWeb system within 7 days of the pass or exam. Students are advised to verify the grades in UsosWeb system. Any discrepancies shall be immediately notified to the teacher running the subject but not later than on February 19, 2023. 
5. The student who failed a course may ask for a conditional registration for the next semester or repetition by applying in the Student’s Office not later than on March  3, 2023. The student is allowed to apply: for for 2 subjects – if having no previous arrears. The first semester students cannot apply for a conditional pass and repetition. 
6. Before taking the exams, students are requested to be acquainted with the Faculty Council resolutions regarding the subjects that cannot be passed conditionally - (a list available on the Faculty web page).  
7. According to the Faculty regulations from June 18, 2020, first semester students are obliged to pass all the courses. No conditional registration is allowed for the 1st semester students - a fail on  February 19, 2023, means being removed from the list of students. 
8. Passing the winter session means getting all positive grades in UsosWeb system on February 19, 2023.  No winter session grading is accepted after February 19, 2023.
