After the meeting, Ambassador Mark Brzeziński invited the participants to take a commemorative photo.
Ambassador Brzezinski devoted most of his speech to the situation of Poland and Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, mentioning the aid that Poles have provided and continue to provide to millions of refugees from Ukraine as well as the US military support for our eastern neighbour, which is at war with Russia, and Poland's role in providing it. He assured the audience of Poland's security on several occasions, stressing that never before in history had our relationship with the United States been so close, especially in the military sphere.
Addressing students directly, he emphasized technological investments and related to them opportunities for young people.
I am very optimistic about the future of the young generation in America and in Poland. I believe that you are able to organise yourselves, technologically of course, through social media, as no one has been able to do before, and that you will do it for really good higher purposes
– said Mark Brzezinski.
Questions from students and academics after the Ambassador's speech related, among others, to: military support for Ukraine with offensive weapons – long-range missiles and modern aircraft – and the situation in our part of Europe in terms of the Russian threat. The response once again included assurances of security guaranteed by the US support and assistance to Ukraine "as soon as possible".
After the meeting, Ambassador Mark Brzeziński invited the participants to take a commemorative photo together.
